Atlas Open Day - Chemistry

Genius can be taught

4 hrAtlas Academia - Epping

Come along to our free workshops for Year 10 students looking to study Year 11 Chemistry and Physics, class of 2026. You'll see what Atlas is all about and gain a valuable headstart for year 11. Strong understanding in good students are not created accidentally. It is built intentionally from the right type of practice, theory, and stimulus from the classroom. In fact, this is how we design our classroom and teaching content. When? October 5th 10:00-2:00pm October 9th 10:00-2:00pm Who's teaching this? Anthony Mai is our Head of Chemistry. His vision is to change the way science is taught, which is currently unclear, boring, and lacks relevance to a student's personal development. The start of a student's learning journey must begin with nurturing the right mindset and study habits, and Anthony is able to do this from the insights he has amassed from years working with gifted students as well as his introspection and study on the nature of learning and science education. Since 2019, Anthony has worked as a lecturer with the Australian Chemistry Olympiad Program, where he is now the Deputy Director; running the national selection exams as well as teaching at the summer holiday intensive school. Back as a student at James Ruse, he was a senior tutor who spearheaded the Chemistry Olympiad Training program from 2017-2018 to establish a systemised course to prepare students for the Australian Science Olympiad Exams, as well as promoting a culture of healthy ambition and supportive cooperation amongst the student body.
