I believe that curiosity is the most important part of learning. So I encourage my students to ask questions, think critically, and explore new chemistry ideas with an open mind. There is no “dumb question” because every question serves as an opportunity to learn and grow.
But at the same time, I understand how nerve wracking it can be to ask questions in front of the class. I understand the pressure, the intimidation of possibly making a mistake, or feeling like you should already know the answer – it’s normal! That’s why as a teacher, I prioritise creating a space where all students feel comfortable speaking up. Learning isn't about knowing everything; it’s about exploring and acknowledging uncertainty along the way.
