Attending Olympiads and Atlas revolutionised how I approached STEM in high school. The game changer was showing me how to be an active learner: always curious, and putting myself in the shoes of the scientist. I was the annoying student that asked too many questions in class and probably gave my teachers a headache (sorry Wayne). I aim to create a classroom environment where everyone is not only comfortable and motivated to ask questions, but can learn how to ask really valuable ones that further push and apply their understanding. Hopefully my students will apply this skill beyond the classroom to access a wealth of exciting opportunities.
